Default Aftermarket muffler

Hey guys, bout got the 96 3.9L straight. Still getting misfire codes cylinders 5 and 6 but only those 2 cylinders and B1S1 to lean cannot find a vacuum leak anywhere. Was getting the code for the O2 sensor circuit to high so I replaced the sensor and solved that problem. Replaced intake gaskets got all new tune up parts (plugs, wires, cap and rotor) new fuel pump, cleaned throttle body thoroughly ran a cpl different fuel injector cleaners as well as some paint lacquer (trick from a old Mopar race car builder). Stumbles under a load and basic acceleration, but sitting still idols like a kitten and takes all the pedal I give it. Any ideas on what might be the problem would be greatly appreciated. But the reason I'm here today is to find out if anyone has used a Floshine performance muffler on a V6 and if so how was the sound and performance? Unless I need to replace it I'm going to keep the cat doesn't appear to have any problems and I don't believe it would make much of a difference in horse power since I'm not building a race motor (yet). Any responses would be great thanks in advance.

What plugs did you install? What brand O2 sensor?

A muffler will change how the exhaust sounds, but, it won't give you any better performance. (unless your old one was REALLY restrictive, or flat out plugged up.)

First I used Bosch platinum plugs and I had a couple wires go bad and so I replaced the wires and when I did I had fouled plugs cause of the wires so I replaced all the plugs again using Champion platinum plugs and both sets of plugs performed the same. I'm wondering with it being numbers 5 and 6 cylinders if I could have missed something going back with the intake all though I can't find any leaks anywhere because of them both being the rear cylinders on each side of the motor, or if it could be in the distributor cap with those 2 cylinder wires being side by side. The O2 sensor I have to check what brand it is. I knew replacing the muffler wouldn't make any difference in the performance, I just don't want to waste my money on a quiet muffler. I know it's not going to sound like a V8 (because it's not) but I have heard some V6's sound pretty good with the right muffler.

Verify your firing order.

Also, these engines are notorious for not likely the rare-earth plugs. You end up with mystery misfires...... Stick with good ol' copper plugs. You'll be happier.

The firing has been verified, I was hoping I had just got 5 and 6 crossed, but no such luck going to put the Champion copper plugs in it today and use a higher heat range. Does anyone know about the Floshine muffler and how it sounds with the V6. Need to replace the muffler asap but was hoping to get a little insight before I purchased a particular one. Like the way the Flowmaster 40 sounds but it just doesn't have a long life before rusting out. Thanks again fellows.

I had a new catalytic converter and muffler put on my '93 V8 last July. I opted for a stainless steel Magnaflow. Don't know the model but it is one of the least aggressive ones. Still louder than my stock muffler by a little bit. I like it. Rumbles just enough but not too much.

Browse YouTube for some vids of various exhaust systems. It'll give you an idea of what kind of sound you'll end up with.

I just went with what the exhaust shop had on the shelf that was QUIET. Gotta be REAL close to the truck to be able to tell if the engine is running or not.

I like quiet too. Got what the guy said was the quietest but it was louder than the stock muffler it replaced. But not ridiculously louder so it works for me. I did insist on stainless.
