While I am on the hunt for my transmission, other parts are starting to show up. This my new cross member - it is a Hooker Blackheart that is meant for a Gen III Hemi swap in a Dakota, but it actually works with the LM7 and a 4L80E trans. Notice the recesses to clear the exhaust and help keep better ground clearance. Nice product, and saves the time having to custom fabricate my own. (picture is upside down)

I finally got the LM7 up on the engine stand. Cheap stand = fitment issues. The four brackets and bolts were purchased from Jegs. The stand is from Harbor Freight. The original brackets were modified (permanently) for a Subaru engine. Thus the Jegs parts. The pivot tube was only welded to one side of the face plate, so I had to clean and weld the opposite side. Then the slots in the plate had to be widened, because the Jegs bolts were 1/32" bigger then the slot width. It should have been a bolt up operation, but sometimes I create my own problems. Now I can start the disassembly.
