So shot in the dark here but I figured I’d ask because my dads buddy is talking to me about carbs and I’m curious, if I wanted to throw on a 2 barrel onto the kegger would it work or would I need to get a different intake? I’m guessing the distributor wouldn’t work either but that I’m expecting.

Kegger is a REALLY BAD design for carbed applications.... And no, the dist wouldn't work either.

I figured, I was mainly curious if it was even possible lol. I've narrowed down my options now and am looking at a Edelbrock 7577 with a Brawler carb from Holley potentially, whatever I can find cheaper. I just watched a video comparing a Holley 750 and a Brawler 750 and the dyno graphs are almost identical, the price is way different. My dad and his buddy were saying I should run mechanical secondaries but on some forums I've read people say that if its a daily driver, vacuum secondaries are better especially in colder weather (which the truck will kind of be in, southern VA mountains), as you can lose your choke if you press the gas too far down before its warmed up. I'm also thinking 750 CFM is way too big for a basically stock 360, so maybe a 650?

The distributor can be replaced with either a small block mopar electronic ignition kit. Or you can buy a HEI distributor (GM Style) that fits the dodge motor. That is what I did.

the problem with the kegger is, its designed to move air only, no fuel.
I would be scared to do it other then maybe a test......
You could have problems with different cylinders running rich, or even worse, lean due to fuel distribution problems.
The other problem it the potential of fuel pooling in the manifold.
If you go with a carbed intake, try to go with the edelbrock 7577 vs the other china brands.
The reason for this is, the 7577 works much better with the factory serpentine accessory system and the bypass hose ......
The others work much better if you are converrting to the old water pump and V belt drive.

Just another curve ball to throw at ya,
Have you considered the Holley HP system and keeping the keeger?
I have not read much on it, but I remember seeing on (forabodiesonly.com) that it can and has been done.
Just a thought.

Yeah I have looked and I think it actually costs as much as the sniper system does plus a 7577 on top, so would be very expensive either way. I think I can get a distributor, Holley DP or brawler, and a 7577 for around $1500. Just would have to figure out the alternator

Alternator is simple. You just use a standard voltage regulator and wire it up. Latter today, I will find the diagram and post it.
For a distributor, this is the cheapest, and so far, has worked fine on mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/35548094756...Bk9SR9rBg5-bZA

I think I might get a more expensive one and utilize mechanical advance, so I can have fully mechanical advance and secondaries

That distributor has both mech, and vacuum advance. It is identical to a mid seventys Chevy V8 distributor except for how it connects to the drive.

Here is a link about the regulator.....

Ill take a peak at that link in a bit, but do I need to run the vacuum advance or can I just leave it plugged?

Some plug it, and adjust mech. curve only. Personally, on a street vehicle I prefer both.
