First world problem - I don't like bending over to reach my beer. Hmmm... an excess of construction lumber left over. I got some motivation!

The increase in height was limited by my desire not to block the map.

In the pic of the rear frame on the truck, I was looking it over, remembering the last strip down. My eye caught the heat shield. There wasn't anything to shield! I had no idea I bought a truck with the exhaust system removed. The manifolds and cross over are still on the engine. I haven't gotten underneath yet to see if it was sawed off or unbolted. Since I will be building a custom exhaust for the LS3, it's just one less part for me to deal with.

I have been mulling over the future. To paint the new motor, or leave it raw aluminum? If paint, what color? Just fishing for some ideas here, guys. No one's wrong. All things will be considered.
