Common A/C issues: problems and solutions
I just create an account to try and diagnose my "Fog Horn" AC. While at highway speed this does not happen. Just after stopping and while stopped, a "Fog Horn" Type noise emits from in dash. I read that the system might be over charged. I just had the AC serviced at a shop in Olympia. I took it to them because it was not making cold air. I also took it to them because they put on a new AC clutch last summer. Any ideas what might create the "Fog Horn" sound??

In the words at the top of the page you mention about the fan clutch. I have fitted two large electric fans blowing onto the engine from the front of the radiator to overcome the other standard Durango Mk 1 problem, overheating in high temperatures.
Would that negate the clutch issue.

havent seen anyone with this problem yet.
needed some ac the other day...jus normal air blowing through ?
took her into the shop, had the freon evac'd,replaced with new.
still no cold air ?
10 amp fuse keeps blowing
no recent elec work on the truck
besides gettin out the voltmeter and fumbling around all day...
could somebody give me a idea what/where to look ?
much...very much... appreciated

Check if the clutch is engaging on the compressor. You'll see what looks like the center of the pulley turning with the belt if it is. My guess would be that it isn't and the solenoid that engages the clutch (or the wires going to it) are shorted and blowing the fuse. It could possibly be a sensor too.
I had to put a bit of Freon into my system but apparently I put too much in, O gathered that from reading the posts here. The blow off from the condenser is that toxic? can I just run it until the blow off stop or will it ruin my system. I do not have the $ right now to get it fixed so is there any more options for letting some of the pressure out?
