My name is Jürgen, I'm from Germany. sorry if i write bad english, but i think you can understand it.
I bought a Dodge Durango 1998 5.9L Magnum to restore.
He was already pretty rusty, but now he is like (better) than new again. Here are a few pictures of my Dodge.
I break the Doge down to the last screw. many pictures show the condition before and then afterwards.
I think the engine technology is great because it's so simple
All parts were cleaned and wear parts replaced
I am jealous! I would love to pull my Durango off the frame for some restoration work, but I am afraid of what I will find as far as hidden rust. VEry nice work and dark blue is the best color, lol.
the body is very easy to take off, otherwise you can not get to the places, there must
be some welding,
see here, these are the typical places on Durango 1998
always wheel arches, door sills and tailgate
I need driver's side rocker, both driver's side doors, tailgate and driver's side rear quarter (not nearly as bad as yours) as well as a driver's side front fender. Passenger side is nearly mint, lol. I agree that taking off the body does indeed make for a better restoration, I wish I had the space but who knows, I have the tools.....
