What Can i do to make and Naturaly Aspirated SOHC???
I got a 99 Neon SOHC i have minor things done to the motor like a cold air intake located behind the tranny, AF/X UDP, Mopar perfomance computer, had the head polished myself to get rid of the turbulence in the ports(did the research), 4-1 header, and a Raven performance exhaust. I would like to turbo the motor to get that HP but i think it would be nice to have a Naturally Aspirated motor just to get more respect. I just wanna know what i can get out of the SOHC and what i can do to it? I heard that the CAM out of the 95 SOHC is almost eqivalent to the Crane CAM as of the specs? Is it true??? Please help!!!!!!! if you wanna check her out Click Here It's got the looks but i need that MOTOR!!!

well you could go big on the cam, put an intake manifold on it, bigger throttle body, if you wanna tear the engine down put some good pistons in it with higher compression, n/a engines will make a good amount of power with the right combo of parts, but airflow in & out is critical, if ya got money get a head done up with bigger valves and huge ports in it, theres a million options, but a turbo is still the easiest way to get the most power,

i got a 95 and the stock cam sucks i put a comp cam in it the comp cam around $400 is extremely impressive the underdrive pulley made a bit of difference becaust it was like 2 inches smaller the intake manifold with the 60mm throttle bodie would do good junk the intake you got and prepare to pay while you search for an iceman cai msd ignition maybe it helps maybe it doesn't i noticed a little quicker rev the mopar computer was nice but i really didn't notice a difference besides the rev limit
also if you like what i am doing is going with a custom mounted centrifugal supercharger from vortech (off of the 93 mustang) 20psi just need a custom bracket made to replace your ac or power steering

The stock 95 cam is more agressive than the other SOHC cams but the cam from the Magnum engines is much more agressive. If you wanna keep the all motor, then I'd go with higher compression pistons, ported race head, bigger TB and so on. The most HP I have seen from a SOHC was 400WHP by a guy named Roach. He has alot of money into his engine though.
95sohcny, I would love to see pictures of your S/C setup. You know you need way more than just a custom bracket to make it work.

my stock 95 engine died, i put one from a 96 in, drove it for a while, put the cam from the 95 motor in, and it really didnt run much different, it gained a little in the last 500 RPM but thats about it, 95 cam is still more agressive, but it still has the vavle timing for fuel economy, not maximum power, they do run a fuzz better but i dont think its worth the money to buy one for the little squirt of a HP gain you get
i can see plumbing would be an issue for a supercharger, you could make it fit in place of the a/c compressor and making a bracket would be easy if you can fabricate stuff, i would say you'd have to use the 2nd gen neon crank and p/s pulley and run a serp. belt over the supercharger,
all motor is better anyway, it will outlive a boosted setup any day

95 cam on a stock 96-99 SOHC has dynoed up to 3-4HP before. Not bad for about $50-$60 used for the cam. Here are some valve lift specs for the cams on the SOHC (intake is the first number and exhaust is the second):
95 cam - 7.8mm/7.03mm
96-04 cam - 7.2mm/7.0mm
01 Magnum cam - 8.75mm/8.00mm
02-04 Magnum cam - 8.5mm/8.0mm
