looks like a overdrive connector to me. being a 89 it may or may not have overdrive.does it have a overdrive button on the dash?

does your truck actually have an overdrive transmission in it tho? i would almost wonder if someone swapped the transmission if that connector is unplugged but you have the switches and wiring for overdrive especially since 89 was the first year for overdrive. they were a weaker transmission so it might have died.

That im not really to sure of but I have the wiring and the OD button for it and all so idk what to do but it just aggravates me acts like it’s bucking and Mossi g when I put into gear and you can smell fuel pretty good seems like running rich and here and there will die in gear but fires right back up been replacing anything could think of pick up coil wires plugs distributor cap button , coil fuel filter cleaned throttle body had the idle control motor taken apart cleaned and al it works good now so I’m just so lost why it’s doing that..

Well replaced the cap, rotor, pickup coil , coil, plugs wires , throttle body temp sensor, cleaned throttle body completely out got a lot of funk out injectors good, new pcv valve all new vacuum lines, new fuel filter new throttle position sensor and it idles pretty good but same thing once in drive it really engages but the problem is it acts like it’s misfiring and just lopes and of snap throttle backfires badly and it will also die so I’m not sure what problem is...
