p1698 code,no bus,no working gauges,no start
However you do it, you need to eliminate one sensor at a time. If you want to unplug two and check another, fine.
It can also be a problem with the CTM, air bag module, cluster, transmission control module, controller - anti lock brake, etc. ANYTHING on the bus can cause this.
I'd be looking at the TCM, just from the codes you posted first. Unplug it and see what happens.
Unfortunately it's probably one of the most difficult problems to troubleshoot.

Yes i know never had such a hard time trying to pinpoint something. I thank you a lot for helping. I will get back to it tomorrow. ran out of daylight and have had a lot of other things going on.again thanks.
ok here's what I done. Unplugged the tcm both are getting 5.1 volts and code 960 with what i looked up means the tcm is not sending basically.then plugged back in and they are both getting 5.1 volt and they weren't before.I took the crankshaft sensor out and it's not getting any ohms have not checked the camshaft yet though.Still brought up the code 920,921,999
Ohms or volts?
Focus on the cam and crank sensors. They share the same power/ground. If one shorts out it kills the 5v. Check the wiring carefully. Disconnect both and check for power/ground. Then try one at a time.
