AC Problem
I'm Petrobruce, and I have a AC problem with my 2000 Dakota. With the AC running the compressor clutch cycles every 6 seconds. Thinking that the system may be low, I tried servicing with 134 refrigerant, but the system wouldn't take any of the refrigerant.
I even jumped the connector on top of the accumulator which cause the clutch to stay engaged. The system wouldn't take any refrigerant. AC is one area of maint. which I'm not very strong, so I'm looking for ideas of troubleshooting to be able pin point my problem. I appreciate any troubleshooting. Thanks! Petrobruce

AC is one of those systems that are really should be left to professionals if you don't have at least some understanding of the systems and more importantly the proper tools and equipment to deal with it. AC refrigerant does not go low just because. If it is indeed low there is a leak somewhere which requires technical skills.
You're assuming it's low on charge. It could be overcharged or there may be a restriction in the system causing an overpressure situation.
You need a better diagnosis including high/low side pressures.
