Thanks for the reply Steve, thinking about the same, gonna make him an offer, we'll see.

Found another one, complete 2011 engine with 45.000 miles, asked him for a price and if i could buy the cams only.

Twin plugs on the 5.7 is a non-issue where the cams are concerned. They will work fine on a single plug/cyl engine. The main purpose of the extra plugs is to make sure all the fuel is ignited for emissions purposes although the extra fire in the cylinder is good for a few horses.

Same on the 4.7L engines, but even though the heads will fit, there a few more things you'll need to change.

I just wanted the cams of a 4.7L 08+ to put in a 2000.

Tune file generated, file saved off and modified copy for fan control. Research to solve problems encountered indicates a write is not going to be successful... will find out soon...

edit: and no-go, support ticket entered. Dak is down since it erased the ecu.

Will it not reload the original tune?

ohhhhhh noooo......that's no good news, thought you'd be safe whenever you had the original tune and could always load this back.

Hope they can help you out, or you find a way to recover it Steve

I don't know what went wrong, and i have very little knowledge on tuning at all, but try to help, found if you go to the HP Tuner s website you could download the stock file.
Guess you already knew this but just in case

this is a youtube link,

Goodluck man

A dealer should be able to reflash it, no? Problem is getting it there. Shouldn't be more than an hour charged.

Nope, it fails at various stages...#1 - downloading the bootloader, #2 - in the middle of the write, #3 - I forget which one this is at this point I picked up my mouse pad threw it on the ground and stomped on it... <jk>

I suspect it has to do with it not finding the VIN when doing the read.

A bench flash should restore it... just need to find a shop that has the hardware & can download the file (from 3rd party) for programming.
