The gas tank is the only part they replaced in mine.
I was reading the invoice and the part number for the tank is 68027992AB $187.00 Labor is .9 hrs Dodge should be fixing all these if its that easy.
For a $187 and $70 in labor... why aren't all of you just paying out of pocket to get this done and THEN fight. Safety and headaches are well worth that.
I don't get it. There is principal and then there is something else. I understand "they should fix it" but if that was applied to everything, nothing gets done.

We were first quoted "between $800 and $1200" when I contacted the Dodge dealer about the problem. If it had been $254 total, I would have taken it right in. But it wasn't.
The labor amount alone was quoted as "at least four hours".

Precisely...total labor/parts for ours was in the neighborhood of $950. That doesn't count the months of aggravation we had following it when the replacement tank wouldn't take more than .50 worth of gas at a time.
So yeah, if it would have been as simple as $200 I wouldn't have bitched as loudly.
Mine never blew out as it was filling like yours, jasonw. It would after I pulled the nozzle out and it was not as bad with the spilling. It seems the vent tube is not venting in your case,
