I know for me this stuff is new to me. But what does mechanical inclined mean? I mean...I know what all of the parts are and how they work...for the most part. My dad has built engines from the ground up...in the 70s though. So those things are what gets me. You have to start somewhere and I think I could do this. I don't think that the insides of the engines have really changed too much from the muscle carr days. i don't know though. I'm not totally sure.

The only way to learn is to get right in there and do it... most don't have the ***** to actually do it though. Take my brother for example... not at all into cars or working with tools. I've got him alot further than he used to be though. He changed his brakes for the first time on his SRT-4 by himself. Never once touched brakes in his live and when finished could not believe how easy it was.

Its that initial fear you need to get over... Take pictures if you need to remember, label everything if need be.

I don't think you will have problems, especially if you father is willing to give you a hand. Engines haven't changed much since the 70's, only the electronics have.

If your willing to go and do the work, and you have someone to help you out, I say go for it. Do take pictures. Also, check for pictures taken by other people of their install to see how they did things. Make sure you have a haynes or some other book too...

Yeah, the fear thing is huge. I just took off my valve cover to paint it last night. My big fear with that was...Am I going to break something or not be able to get it back up and running. I actually did take some pictures before I started but I never needed them....way way easy. If my car wasn't a "dd"(lol) I don't think I would really be all that scared.

Thanks for the advice guys.
