Yesterday I drove both trucks back to back and I have to say that aside from the power, my '95 is a nicer truck to drive. It handles better, brakes better, and rides better. I am glad it is back on the road.
Loaded the 87 tune from Hemifever... a subtle but noticeable improvement in throttle response... I'm not expecting much until I replace the keg (with leaking plenum) and add the other mods on my list... Then I'm expecting a little more excitement, with the higher octane tunes.
SCT tuned my truck with the 87 octane tonight. Gotta agree with Bryan, I can feel the difference nothing huge but I'm glad with the purchase. I'm gunna wait till the higher octane tunes too for the final opinion. BTW when I start my truck up everytime there's is sound like a turbo, subtle whistle sound from the engine bay, only does it when its cold but after she reaches the 180* the whistle stops. Anybody help me out? (also when cold it'll whistle when i give her throttle and everything is torqued correct on the intake.)
Changed plugs to Iridium IX, replaced serpentine, and had to replace the tensioner as it was bad. Also pulled bed liner and cleaned the bed at the local car wash. Then took the garbage off with the dogs riding along.
After driving around for two weeks with a leaking water pump, replaced it and the belt... Nice NOT to have to add water every day..thought for second I looking after a horse!!
Put an order in yesterday with Cascade Transmission Parts for the governor pressure solenoid (the Borg Warner component) and a new pressure sensor, as these guys saved me about 40 bucks on both components total vs. doghouse direct's prices. I'm frothing at the bit looking at the Alto Red/Kolene master rebuild kit, but we'll save up for that and a Sonnax Sure Cure Kit. Besides, if it ain't broke (and you are), don't fix it, right? LOL :P
Added a ½Qt of oil, and a gallon of water to the engine... then did a lap of the back window with silicone to see if I can stop that damn cab leak (sick of the pax floor pan being wet).
