That link is for the earlier second gens, 94-97.

I was refering to Moparlove and tincan when I said that. However, I love that floor console that comes in the manual trucks. I almost bought one off ebay to design a custom switch area where the shifter would come through.

Open the lid of the console and that console thingy fits over the front edge. When you close the console it locks it in place. Even with the lid open it doesn't move.

Dang $64 dollars for a piece of plastic that's going to hold 2 drinks? Might as well use your legs to hold your drinks.

Hot coffee doesn't really bother plastic. Sure gets my attention though.

Thanks guys, I liked it, This will let me move the cups down and close that flimsy holder on the 97. When I'm in the Diesel.........well, you know, it's a 99 (normal).

Let the women drive to town, she took a turn in the parking lot too quick and almost (I mean not even fingers width available) hit a parked car....

She's used to driving a tiny Toyota Corolla...

Ah gotcha. Interesting little contraption there.

you could always be extra cheap and get the cup holders that hang off of your door panel.

I use one of these in my S10:

much cheaper and it will heat/cool drinks or takeout food inside it too

My S10 didn't come with an armrest/center console and the seat is just a basic bench seat, so I put that in the middle seat and seatbelted it in so it doesn't move. Nobody can sit there anyway being a compact truck with a manual trans...

As promised, here is my short write up on what i did for my cup holder.
This is the front portion of the holder. Notice how theres a plastic cover that is popped up some. Pop that up and underneath theres going to be a small hole just big enough for weed wacker string to fit through.

Same process applies for the rear and the other side of the holder. This is the rear.

And thats all there is to it. Like I said, its not professional by any means but it works good. This is the finished product in the dash.
