What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
Slowly widdled away at some body work over the past couple days now that the weather's nice. This was one of the worst places on the truck and had been bothering me for some time; front fender. What I started with (inner fender pulled back):
Chaff mark from old running boards:
After some grinding and acid treatment i was left with some ugly holes...
A bit of metal screen, short strand fibreglass, lots of sanding and a bit of paint:
(Don't mind the rough circle near the mounting hole, wasn't concerned as it's under the liner)
And after some wetsanding and polishing:
Very pleased with how it turned out

Why is your diff getting hot? That is normally an indication that there is something wrong inside the housing. If you had the proper level of oil in there then it shouldn't be getting real hot.
Not hot hot, I could hold the back of my hand on it and be fine. It was just soaked in water and mud and you could see steam coming off of it. The fluid that came out was pretty dirty and thick, all my gears and clutch packs looked nice though, new 80w90 dino and the LS additive went in there and she's driving very nice now
I finally got around to installing my new fender flares. On our way home from Calif in Dec my wife hit ice and took out the fender flares on the passenger side of the truck. So I have had these flares now since the end of Feb but first it was too cold and then I just never got them replaced. So I have been driving around with flares on the drivers side and none on the passenger side.
What the old flares looked like.
The new flares on the passenger side first.
Then after WAY longer than I thought it would take I was done with the passenger side. When the body shop took the broken flare parts off they did something with the screws. So I had to hunt down screws and blind clips so I could mount the flares.
Drivers side flares all done. This side only took 45 minutes maybe to mount because everything was there.
I like the look of the black flares better than the painted white ones. Now I can install my mud flaps so maybe I won't get stopped as often for NO MUD FLAPS!!!!

I don't know if I can or not but I have to have them in Washington.
It is waiting for me to hook up the truck to the trailer and go play. All our woods are closed down right now due to wet conditions. So they close all the trails until it dries out some. If not the idiots with their brains connected to the go pedal make huge ruts and destroy the woods. Then they close them down for years till they can repair it.
