What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
Getting truck ready to take down to the deer lease this weekend to fill up feeders and redo a couple stands. Ran some Mopar combustion cleaner through, checked plugs/wires/rotor/fluids, and changed the oil.
I have been hearing this strange noise from my front end. A kind of thin metal vibration sorta sound. It only makes the sound when Im slowly coasting to a stop. (Not using any brakes) Well I pulled my front left tire and I believe it was my backing plate rubbing the rotor. So I gently motivated it to come away from the rotor. Drove it home and so far no noise. Also last night coming home ran something in my tire so I had to use the spare. Man what a buzz killer.
My driver side lower seat cushion has seen better days. Don't get me wrong, the previous owner did an admirable job in mending it, but the padding was missing and I sloped to the left when I drove it.

I went to the local pick and pull and snagged a passenger side seat. It was a bit dirty, but it was in great shape overall:

After cleaning it up:

After it was installed. It looks sooooo much better and feels much better as well!

Not bad for $6!

ordered a new magnaflow y-pipe/cat converter for the truck today, along with a mbrp dual exhaust.
they dont make a dual exhaust for a 2004 2500 hemi, so i ordered one for a 2006 1500 mega cab, as it has a 2500 frame under it.
think smarter, not harder!
3rd gen is still running well. miss the 2nd gen every now and then.
dakota has been sitting since i pretty much bought it. i did start replacing some parts on the motor getting it refreshed. im hoping it will be going in before the end of summer.
also, my snap-on mt2500 that i bought when i first built my motor, has since been traded in to the local snap-on rep. i paid 300 for it 3 years ago, they gave my a grand for it.
i bought a slightly used snap-on verus pro version 16.2. its a 12k dollar scan tool. got it for 4500! its a windows based scan tool, which means, internet access if needed, a camera, and also a built in multimeter, and scope.
i didnt get any of the accessories that it should have came with, but ill ask the snap-on rep next time he comes to my shop.
