Frankie,
Yes you are correct they now have the AAM axles per the repair manual. So as you said I have the 9.5 front and either the 10.5 or 11.5 rear axle. So now I need to find out what new shafts are going to cost. And thanks for the info. Mine is a CTD truck wouldn't own anything else but that.

Don't sweat breaking the axle! My Dad was selling his 06 W900 last year after ordering a new Pete 389 and the buyers were meeting him halfway to Nebraska. It had sat for a couple months and when he pulled away, heard a BOOM. Drove fine down there so he told the buyer (who was going to restore the truck anyway) to let him know what it was and he'd pay for it. It happened to be the forward drive axle of the front duals. The brakes had frozen and when he pulled out, it snapped right off at the wheels. Sent a check and they sent the restoration pics. I know the world of bigrigs has a better trust situation and smaller circle than cars, but just work a deal to replace the shaft or discount it. The AAMs are not better than Danas. Sad dodge went away from dana. Lots of bad ball joints and non-serviceable parts. And when it says 1500 was included in the AAM 9-1/4, they mean the 1500 mega cabs. These axles are called Chrysler 9-1/4. Dodge 1500s came with three different diffs depending on years: 02-11 Chrysler IFS, Mega 1500 Chrysler solid, and in 12 they switched to ZF 215mm. Apparently, AAM allows Chrysler to call it a corporate axle.

Cleaned my K&N Air filter. Since I had the airbox off I decided to cross my fingers and look down the throttle body. I was a little nervous but still nice and clean since the plenum job a few years back. Looking around with the flashlight I did find a small coolant leak around the thermostat housing. I noticed about week or so ago she was losing some coolant so I'm glad to find the leak there and not at the heater core I put in around Christmas.

Got the BFGs installed!!!!

And I think . . . . . . . .
.
.
.
.
.
.
.That the vibration is GONE!!!!!!

I haven't tested it fully yet but coming home in the rain from Discount it rode like on a cloud! I cannot believe it! AGHH! These tires are beautiful!

Took them a looooong time to install. First they couldn't find my tires. Said they came in on the truck but with so many monkeys running around, they forgot where they were. Finally, a kid (and I mean kid) rolled them up. Then one didn't balance right (7oz!) so I suggested they rotate the tire on the wheel and that brought it down to 2.25 oz. Then he checked out all of them on two machines and "zero'd" them out as he said.

Always have to correct them as to lug nut torque = 95 whereas they wanted 110. Not sure why shops are all wrong on this!

Old Cooper ATPs looked better (oh they were sexy) and I was a bit leery taking them off with 8/10ths left, but now that I know they were so bad, I should have done them sooner.

The BFGs run SMALL. They are barely the size of the ATPs which ran small compared to the NITTOs, all in LT285/75 R16 E. Why don't tire companies make things the same???

Anyway, I have many years to test out these tires. I hate reading reviews about tires that say they just got them installed and they are amazing and recommend them. How do you know? The ATPs were great at first but started vibrating two years later! I have been fighting this vibe for two years with very strange symptoms: buzzing in floorboard, shaking when backing up, humming/howling on hwy, etc. So now that they are gone, I can give an accurate review on Discount about the ATPs and they are crap! I did get decent life though: 50k and they had 5-8/10ths left. But the vibes. . . .

Yesterday I finally got a new windshield in the pig. Before I bought the truck 8+ years ago, it had sat for a few years where sprinklers from a field could hit it. The water stains were bad, but with some elbow grease, the previous owner and I were able to clear it up some. The new one is so clear that I couldn't tell it was there except for the wipers weren't sitting on the dash. Lol.

Today I installed a posi-lok. What a worthwhile pain in butt. I had locked the CAD fork in place several years ago because of vacuum issues. The install is pretty straight forward, but I have too much junk in the cab. Between the CB, The search and rescue radio, trailer brake controller, magic black box for the speedo, cell phone booster, and the sticks, the drivers area is a little crowded. Lol.
Without all the junk the setup is easy. They give you locations for mounting everything, and a template for drilling through firewall. Now to see how much difference I see running down the road.

Finally got around to replacing the distributor cap and rotor at 172,000 miles. Looks like I have to change the plugs and wires as well :/

I sure hope you don't mean the original cap and rotor. Mine wear out every 30k like the plugs. There's just no way they could be stock.

Nope! Not stock haha this was the second time they had to be replaced. Every 30k? How many miles do you have on the truck now?
