Speaking of the vent door, for months mine had been switching on it's own from cool AC to warm and the switching just got progressively worse. All my vacuums were ok and it was not a case of wild vents. So i took the blend door actuator at bottom of dash and the little plastic coupler, that is known to crack, was cracked. I purchased the Heater Treater kit. And while pricey at fifty bucks it was well worth it since it's a forever truck. Problem solved but wished i would have done it sooner as it was driving me nuts.

Got some rain, so far so good
We got some rain and so far it seems the wet starting issue is resolved. Won’t trust it for a while until I have a few more rainy day starts. But it was good it did start today after last nights rain since I needed to go get a sway bar link to replace the one that fell off my wife’s Tahoe yesterday.

After an over night thunderstorm followed by a few hours of soaking rain it started right up. Looks like a good ignition system tuneup was what we needed. Thanks

Over the last couple weeks I got my rear bumper off, disassembled, cut holes for lights and rust coated (KBS). Got it put back on today and ran wires for lights. Also tore out the leaf shackles and replaced them with some 2" drop ones. Also been busy cutting and sanding out a few rust spots on the bed, patching and treating both lower doors, and cutting both lower front fenders off to be replaced with some patch panels I've had for a while now. Body work is something I don't get to excited about jumping on, but it needs to be done this season before it gets out of control.

Replaced step bars
After 21 years old bars rusted off. I mean they each about 2 months apart just collapsed and fell off when I stepped on them with my full weight. Drivers side while I was doing the registration sticker, passenger side chasing vacuum lines under broken dash. They rusted out just outboard of the brackets which were still solid. I got some new ones on amazon, made in China but supposed to be stainless steel under that black finish. I lost the original body mount bolts somewhere along the years so going with same style was easiest route. Hoping they get me the next 21 years.

Put a new cover on my center console lid and added a steering box stabilizer.

Was it just a cover, or did you pull it down and reupholster it?

I took it apart and did a reupholster on it. Got lucky and only broke four lock tabs doing it.
