I just ordered wires and am really glad you said that. It made me go back and double check and it’s the wires that are 13 years and 90k old and the distributor that is only 5 and 35kish. Had it backwards in my head after I mentally latched onto distributor, will do all when I get to it.
Finally got the new wires, cap and rotor in. I forgot what a PITA it is to reach that distributor cap with the intake on. Wires had some gunk but looked mostly ok, cap had some minor corrosion. Drove fine after the work, but it also drove fine on the two hour trip the day before. Now I guess I wait for the rain to see if I fixed the problem.

I could send you some of ours...... I have ponds forming in my yard..... One of 'em, I actually expect, and isn't really a surprise, the other three though.... They only show up when we get a LOT rain...... I think this is the fourth time I have seen them in the seven years I have lived here.
And yes, the distributor is a major pain to get to...... One of the reasons I wanted the V-10. No distributor.
