With it just below the top of the plate it’s view will not be obscured by the tailgate when open.

How is the view from the higher vantage point?

Perfect! My Alpine camera has 3 views. Wide angle, corners, and a zoom in on the hitch. Just like my new Ram. Don't see the tailgate at all

New plug wires today. They were even more overdue than I thought. I've decided I'm done running the wires through the funky harness they have going over the top of the engine from the opposite end of the coils. Such a jumble trying to get those right without it stressing on the wires. Gonna do something else about keeping the wires routed clean.

Keep up updated with what you come up with, and how it works out.

Hey hey, will definitely do. Thinking it's a matter of some plug wire clips and maybe some loom. Don't think it will take much, but might try to make them stand more. Will get some before and after pics as long as I remember.

Not today, but last weekend I changed my oil, transmission fluid, transmission filter, and adjusted the bands. Transmission certainly does behave better now.

Had the tires balanced & rotated and the alignment checked. After all the frustration I've had getting it aligned right, it seems to be holding it just fine.

Next up, a set of Bilstien shocks to finish things off.

I gutted my smog pump and slapped it back together. It's so much quieter under the hood now. Think I'm gonna take it back apart , clean and regrease the bearing tomorrow. It squeaked for a while when I fired it up. Ended up solving my plug wire routing issue by keeping the wires run through the original harness(s), but just left the two halves unclamped to keep the binding action off them. Seems to be a good plan so far. Might start playing around with some Ospho tomorrow and maybe pull my motor mounts apart to have a closer look at 'em.

Had no headlights only flash to pass. Took apart the multifunctional switch and it was corroded. Cleaned it up and everything works now

Probably about time for me to stir the pot again, after a few years...

Took the 99 over 200,000 miles. Well, it wasn't today. Sometime last week. But I never have time for this stuff anymore...
