Default Fresh New Exhaust... almost

The exhaust I was going to hang myself at our daughter's house couldn't wait as I had a pre-cat oxygen sensor getting tired and grumpy, so I took my parts around the corner to let the tires/maintenance guys have at it. At the moment I've got a fresh new Magnaflow direct-fit cat and most of a Gibson cat-back in place, with fresh new oxygen sensors fore and aft.

I personally handed the mechanic the instructions for the Gibson cat-back, the very first paragraph of which explicitly stating that if there's a headpipe between the cat and muffler you must reuse it, but before I knew it he'd cut the headpipe out. Oops. Since it was done as a good-guy no paperwork job for a hundred bucks, I have to go get the headpipe myself in the morning and take it back to have the rest of the system installed. Just now it's dumped ahead of the rear axle where I don't want it and hanging in a twitchy kinda wants to fall out way. Damn.

I should've known when the "mechanic" said to me, "I get so f***ing tired of people coming in here telling me that their oxygen sensors are broken". I just told him that he wasn't to concern himself with the oxygen sensors except to put the new ones in the right holes while replacing the exhaust, and he got the message. Then hacked up my headpipe. Oh well.

Truck sounds nice, not as loud as most would want but well more than loud enough for me, and it seems to be flowing nicely. I'm not doing any more driving than I must before the system is completely in -- and once again I'm kicking myself for trusting someone who pretends to be a mechanic. But the truck sounds nice and seems to be flowing nicely.

Took my drivers test in it, and passed, and drove in the rain for the first time by my self. Nothing too exciting.

Default What I did (not today-I'm new here)

Just replaced fuel tank straps over the long weekend. Just got back from body shop 1 week prior to that. Had new rockers and all four fenders worked on. Cut out the junk and welded new metal back in. The guy did pretty good considering what was there to work with. I like my truck again! Now to take care of some of the mechanical things I've been blowing off.
