Man, that sucks. But at least you got it without stripping the holes (or studs, can't remember) that the bracket for the tensioner is bolted to.
I changed mine in the Advance auto parking lot in just a few minutes. I pulled the coil bracket and put a wrench on the nut, wrung it off and bolted the new one on.

 

I fixed my front left door speaker. It had a static sound to it then it finally just stopped playing. so i found out that it was a loose connection and made the connection. thank god!

 

Washed and waxed it. Looks friggin great.

 

Adjusted the play out of the steering box last night. Sure drives a lot better now.

 

gas and turned over 78,000miles

 

well finally i had a day off from work....ive worked 16 out of 18 days...so ive been very tired....

well finally i got a chance to fix my leaking rear wheel cylinder....but that was the start....ended up replacing drums, shoes, hardware, and wheel cylinders on both side.....bled out the brakes, and my stopping is awesome....i only have to touch the pedal and she stops....before i had to push about half way before it would start to catch....now its at full lock up around 1/4 pedal....i love it....its the best my brakes have been since i owned the truck.

And before when i shifted it would jolt forward a little...now i cant feel it shift when i take it out of park.....the rears werent touching at all, and the adjusters were seized up...well its all new now, and its awesome that it doesnt pull to the right when i brake anymore....nice clean stops, i love it.

 

My 95 B2500 w/318, 4spd auto, got new water pump, serp belt, tranny filter & ATF+4 goop; full syth rear end goop; tires checked, power steering pump tightened to slow leaks; now hafta pull doghouse because new pump did not cure all leaks--prolly in one of the hoses under the doghouse. I always pull rt front seat and put in back, then doghouse comes out MUCH easier--just slides back, AND with seat out, plenty of working room.

And coupla daze ago put new belt tensioner--Haynes manual has NO instructions; turned out to be worse job than water pump--had to pull about half the right side of engine front, incl coil, to get to the one metric SOB nut holding the tensioner on. And van has only 105k on it; my '89 B250, same chassis, engine, tranny, has 320k with orig tranny, engine, front end. My 95 had ball joints at 70k, now needs them again.

 

Yeah--but didja hafta pull the shroud to get to it? I tried coming in from the side after pulling the coil, but no room to swing a wrench.

But--it's done now; next time I'll sell or scrap the durn machine.

 

Hauled 4.5 yards of playground aspen mulch to replenish what had gotten kicked and stomped away in my backyard playground. Then I washed the truck because it hasn't been washed most of the winter so far. Looked nice and shiney. Unloaded my winter sand bags. Probably get a spring blizzard now. lol

Drove it to work today because it was so foggy this morning, and my little gas sipper car only has one headlight working - not great in the fog. So that means I will burn about 3 gallons of gas today. If I had driven the gas sipper, i would have used about .7 gallons. Oh well.
