Busy week ahead. Preparing to R&R the front hub bearings, front brakes and maybe brake lines.
Timing for this disaster couldn't be worse.

And it's not the heater core, it's water.. Windshield must have a leak somewhere??
Like stated before its most likely the A/C evaporator drain on the passenger side engine bay on the firewall. The simplest fix is to put an inch or two longer piece of hose on the barb protruding from the wall, and silicone around the opening. The water is simply blowing back into the cab. The stock only has a foam seal so it corrodes and allows water to leak

After finishing ball joints, tie rods, steering gear and pump yesterday, decided to take on brakes today. Discovered shocks were factory (133,000 on truck) so I decided to change them out as well.

Drives like a different truck now!

Kegger mod goes from bench to engine next week, as well as water pump, timing set, and SCT Tune. Too many ball games to watch this weekend to start on it!

Pulled the hubs and brakes off today and decided since I'm gonna die broke I might as well do the ball joints too.
Good thing...the lowers were shot!
Need to order in a press and the joints.
I hope this gets most of my problems solved!

Continuation...got the ball joints pressed out and the spindles and brake caliper bracksets cleaned and prepped for paint.
I am sad because my budget can't cover powder coating.

Default Found my razzle-frazzin' coolant leak!

I was all set to dive in to do a water pump replacement and a timing set while I was in deep, new hoses, thermostat, and so on, but it was bugging the heck out of me that I didn't know precisely where the coolant was coming from. I'd hunted and cussed for a cumulative total of about three and a half hours with a big bright flashlight, a smaller bendy light, two different inspection mirrors, rags and paper towels, and a mood that got sourer by the minute.

Today I decided that it was time to get heart attack serious about finding that stinking leak. I just didn't want to tear into the timing cover and catch a radiator leak out of the corner of my eye, ya know?

About an hour into it today, I spotted the culprit. I don't know how it got past me before, but I figure I was lucky to catch it while it was acting up:

It was leaking in two places around the gauge face, the fan was drawing the coolant through the gap between the radiator and shroud and blowing it onto the engine. I put the old cap back on, topped up and burped, and everything's bone dry again. FINALLY!
