Not sure what's funnier, girl on FB looking for a job but wondering if potential employers will need her I.D. or the guy trying to sell a 1974 Chevy Cheyenne 10 2wd with 350V8 claiming it gets 22mpg....

However I did briefly own a 98 K1500 with a freshly rebuilt top end, the mpg's were pretty damn good, but not 22.....

We're supposed to be getting rain this week, conveniently when the GF and I were going to Dallas to SpeedZone. Better not rain.

Why are gasket sets different for 93-96 than 97+?

I had a 77 K5 blazer with the 350.... It got 11 MPG. Didn't matter what I was doing. Just me, full load, towing, or anything in between.... 11 MPG......

That was my thought as well.

Previously, when it was full-time 4x4, it got 10. I installed the part-time kit in hopes of better gas mileage...... that worked out well....... Not.

I could get one to get better fuel economy...

first off, junk the original engine, or rebuild it with different parts... those old v8's had zero power for their displacement.

stroke it to 383 with h-beam rods and billet crank, do some GM fastburn heads, comp street/strip special cam, roller rockers, springs, etc.. 650 dom, and decent intake manifold...do your ignition box little timing and carb adjustments...next ditch the POS trans behind it and put something with long legs under it...Built T-56...then change the rear axle ratio to 3.43... there you have it. 20+mpg as long as you stay out of the throttle...

It is also going to need to run premium from that point on, and possibly a mix of race gas unless you put lower compression pistons in there to get away with running 92 pump gas.

get into that throttle and you might need new rear tires... (that motor is going to scream and will be putting out more hp than displacement..)

You should build one for your S10.
