I think it's because we are only 6hrs east of the Pacific Ocean and that keeps our temps up, not as warm as living on the coast but much better than most places. If you travel east up and over the mountain's and into Alberta then the cold temps start. The Shuswap Lake also helps keep us warm, bigger lake only 2.5 km away from us as well. 45min south of us they don't even have snow.
We get a crap load of snow but not as much a Revelstoke does or Kaslo.
^^^ We have better sledding here in the mouse, most of the trails up are less than 10 minutes from me. By the way sledders are here in mass, must be good up there this year.
