As one who's been in the wind for nearly 40 years I want to remind you that the most fatal ****ups come in the first 500 miles on a new ride. Take care and be well, friend.

That's a good deal getting a used lower powered bike for your first one. I've heard of people getting something like a CBR 1000 brand new for their first bike and dumping it a time or two within the first couple months of owning it.
A small wipeout on bikes like that are expensive to fix (the body panels).

Had to do some running today, and the wife and I stopped at Mac's for a quick bite. (we were in a hurry....) While we were inside, the delivery truck showed up. (a big *** semi....) and parked in the drivethru lane....... it was lunch time, so, the joint was hoppin'..... So, go out to the truck, look at the line of cars, and the likelyhood of a LONG wait before I could back out, and leave the 'right' way....... looked at what was in front of me...... a curb, a steep downslope to another driveway. Hhhhmmmm...... easy choice. Dropped it into 4wd, climbed the curb, took it nice and slow down the slope, got onto the lower driveway, back into 2wd, and off we went.
I love driving a truck.

Thats why we drive trucks!! We make our own parking spots!! I do it all the time in the winter. Parkin on snowmounds and in the grass. Turning around in the median when there is a huge backup on the interstate. Gotta play a little bit before going the other direction lol.
On a side note. Think I solved my issue with my 4x4. Didn't tell anyone but After I had my 4x4 actuator replaced the truck didn't like to disengage or re-engage. 1 possible reason was my u-joint was shot to he!!. 2 possible reason is that the CAD was miss aligned. After i took the shaft out and replaced the u-joint there was no more play and it goes in and out no problem. So who knows.
