a well tuned bicycle shouldn't break any parts. don't remember ever breaking something on the trails that i could not fix even if i had to redneck things.

A well tuned bike will break parts if you ride hard enough.

I've heard of bikers popping 2 or 3 derailluers in a month. I wanna be that guy, since I'd be riding like a mad man.

You're still going to break stuff, that's my point. lol And you'll have a higher likelyhood of breaking with used parts.

Keep doing what you're doing, as it works for you, but I am weary of used parts. Considering I've broken parts that I took care of to begin with from day one. lol

All this talking about bikes makes me miss mine. I used to have a custom made high boy Vegas bmx bike that I rode everywhere, but as soon as I was old enough to drive something with 4 wheels it started collecting dust. Then one day it went missing, my mom decided to give it to a younger kid. I spent a whole summer saving money for that bike. $600 is a lot of grass cutting and chores for a 14 yr old.

My dad said the same thing about me. I still ride, just not as much I used to due to extra yard work and chores. lol
