You gonna do a walk around/driving video for us in that awesome Irish accent of yours?
I'm on the warpath today. Don't mind me.

ya. for the rpm range that my 318 runs in the 670cfm holley is too much. i think the 670 might even be a bit too much for a big block like yours unless you run it up to 6000rpm. i would have to be able to run my 318 up to 8000rpm to make full use of the 670 carb. i would only have to hit about 4500rpm to make full use of the 390cfm carb. i think red line where my 318 would blow up is about 4400rpm. i know my engine only turns at about 3400rpm when i am doing 90mph down the highway so the 390 would be perfect for me.

Well, nothing much I can do without driving her everywhere. And as mellow as she is I think she'd get pretty annoyed after a while of that.
I only drive if we're in the same vehicle. Usually it's her car where it's an issue. My truck is obviously not a problem.

but holley carbs are a bit different then then something like carter or edlebrock carb which usually have smaller primaries and large secondaries.

This is true, the Carter TQ has tiny primaries and huge secondaries.
