Cobb Turbo Heat shield

The Install and we are still not done!

Pics:

Day started off with a surprise: A mouse made a nest on my engine block.

TGV Deletes - Deleted the butterfly valves and honed the inside to smooth the sides as well as make more turbulence for better fuel/air mixture.

Turbo Comparison - stock V39 Turbo and 18G turbo

Inlet to cold air

Inlet to turbo

Up-pipe installed

Turbo Installed

Hmm Headers - 4 in 1 collector with 02 sensor.

Headers installed

Back of turbo (up pipe is connected to it, downpipe goes from here to exhaust. Downpipe is 3"

Downpipe installed with new wideband sensor.

Nearly done - Engine Bay

Grimspeed Oil Air Separator installed.

Relocated fuel regulator as well as all emission sensors removed

Day2 - tomorrow
Wiring up the wide band to gauges
Fuel Pump
Short Shifter Kit and bushings
Charcoal box delete
Change from Cobb AP1 Stg2 to Open ECU - custom map to run around on till I can get to Columbus for a tune.

Next set of upgrades will be all bushings for suspension and gearbox.
Looking to do a Legacy GT twin pipe exhaust since the charcoal box will be removed.

Man, what a long day!

For those of you who are a little confused about this engine, its a flat 4 boxer engine.

Basically I replaced everything you see here except the engine.

wow, impressive on many levels from how technical those cars are and you doing the work yourself. I am interested in the air/oil separator, is that something that could be installed in the pcv system on a ram? anyway would like to hear about the performance specs on that thing.. I mean can it hang with a vette and stuff when you are done?..I have no idea.

Im looking to get close to 400whp, it maybe wishful thinking, but we shall see. I can keep up with a vette on the curves, but not the straights, which is not bad for a 2.5L 4 banger.

Now the Oil Air Separator issue for a truck? Not sure, might be better with an oil catch can. Basically you take the air from the two manifolds and it leaves the air free of oil go back to your air intake.

Heres a shot, in it you can see oil on both the outer tubes and the middle tube which goes back to your air intake is oil free.

Looks real good & thats some decent power (if it makes it)
Do you have any skin left on your knuckles

You ceramic coated these parts yet they look like they are pwdrctd black or am I missing something?

Vettes arent that hard to beat straight line, all depends on year & model & if they are stock

Dude, that totally rawks! Look in my gallery and you'll see my 1991 VW GTI I just hauled home. I can't wait to tinker with that thing. Also, it's an 8-valve engine, commonly referred to as "The Rock Crusher".

I guess I'm going to have to give up on the whole idea of keeping up. I thought a Rock Crusher was a Muncie M-22 close-ratio four speed manual transmission.
