Better put your flamesuit on, the fanboys are going to attack you for not wearing your kneepads for Chrysler products.

I dont think Cummins would ever stoop to a low level as producing a V anything for dodge trucks, not only is straight the way to build a efficient diesel, but its the way they have been doing it for years, a slighty smaller straight 6 or something a tad bigger than the 4bt, might be a hot ticket for 1500 series trucks

Have none of you heard about the old Chevy S10's that came with the "Iron Duke" 4-cylinder diesel?

the big three wont release an american half-ton with a diesel cause theres no market for one! (thats what they say.)
There is no market for them because nobody makes one! There wasnt a market for 3/4 ton diesel pickups in the '80s, but they still made them. After a few years and people got educated on how good these trucks were, they started buying them.

Yes, and I'd love to get my grubby hands on one!

I cannot confirm that Cummins is going to build a V6 or V8 diesel for the 1500s, thats just the talk thats been going on since around 2008 when the 4th gens were just starting to come out from the curtain.
This motor could work:

Well, I do have a problem with that. Plus I think that engine is for European spec anyway.

I want the Cummins engine that is built an hour away from me!

As long as it is Cummins branded I dont think it will be a problem, as much as I would like to say that because its made in america its better than the rest its not always true,
