Ok, after reading through all of the comments everyone left today and the criticism I received in my listing I did some editing and changed the price so let me know if you think this is better, thanks!

I bought my 97 with 170k on it in about the same shape minus the tear in seat and cracked dash for 4300. Mileage doesn't really bother me as long as the truck was maintained.

Well I was OCD about changing the oil every 3k miles, plus trans fluid, diff fluids, brake fluid, coolant, etc...

i bought my 95 with 187K, had 4.10 gears installed 7K beforehand, Fresh rebuilt trans, toolbox, bed rails, new radiator, new fuel pump, rims, and new tires for $1800.....still runs flawless...

Not to critisize more, but id pay about $2800 MAX for that since it has that many miles, so trans is due to go soon, and the rust you have....

I agree. Good luck if you can find someone willing to pay that. I got my 97 with 109k for $2,200. The market is not there these days especially with gas prices as they are. But hey, if you find someone willing to pay, great for you.

$4200? I wasn't aware there was that much rust on it, and it has 191k on it? That rust is a deal breaker for me. Any receipts to show what you replaced? If someone buys it from you for that much, congrats. However, I think you'll have a tough time getting what your asking for it.

I guess Im spoiled down here.....because if it has rust I would never touch it for much more than a grand, theres 4x4's selling for 3k with no rust and minor paint or body work, but then again it comes down to location

Edmunds states that an approximate fair asking price would be around $3800, and if you get $2500, it'd be good... if there was no rust.

Up here around South Dakota, trucks are overpriced/overvalued, for example. So you could make a little more possibly depending on your region. Your truck, without rust and in my area, would be for sale for around what you are asking... at a dealership.

Not being mean here, just stating observations: with the rust knocking it down below clean condition, $3000-ish would be maximum dealer retail and if you get $2000 for it, be happy.

Yes, you always ask a little more than what you want if you wish to have negotiating room, but if you ask far to much, you will scare potential buyers away before you even get to negotiations.

I didn't know that rust would make THAT much of a difference. I might just keep it and pay $11 a month for insurance. There is NO WAY I'm selling the truck for 2k, not after all the work I've put into it. I know that's what they're going for but I can't settle that low.
