3000 grit is a silk rag, but 2000 is pretty close. I could still see very slight sanding scratches with 1500. Probably because of the black base coat. But no scratches visible with 2000. I am starting with a light sanding with 500, then to 1000, then 1500 wet sand with the 3M Trizact. then final sand with 2000. There have been a couple of times where the "ggod enough for who it's for" would start to set in....then I remember who it is for....

Personal pride can be a real b1tch at times, huh? Either way, the customer needs to be happy with the end result.

Finsished sanding this afternoon and rolled outside to wash off. Need to let dry and then check over real well to make sure it is ready to buff. One lesson learned...If you remove all of the door weatherstripping, wash truck, and then hop back into truck to move back into garage....you butt gets wet. Note to self....

On another topic, while hunting for seat bottom replacement, found a 68 Torino 2D fastback. Crap, and I still have not finsihed the deal on the Model A. Good thing wife is out of town for the week.....may be able to hide it in the back yard for a little while...

Not sure, but may find out at the end of the week....Trying to sell VW to my son for one of the grandkids.....justification for picking up another project (pr two..)

10:00 update: Who told my wife I was looking at another car? She's coming home tomorrow evening! I gotta move quickly now...and move the big screen to the doghouse - MLB and NBA....

Looked over Ram and only a few places need a little more 2000g sanding and then it will be ready to buff.

Other than LMC, anyone have a good source for replacement carpet?

While looking at the parts before reinstalling them, I looked at the 3rd Brake Light. Does this look normal or faded to anyone?

This thread would be a lot better if swimsuit babes were posing in each picture with the truck.

I'm just sayin'.....
