+ 1 on that! I would like to do something different with my 72, plus it needs the bed replaced, its pretty rusty. I haven't decided if I wanna put another factory bed on it or flat bed it... I love the look of a fullsize full bodied wheeler, but since it will never again be my commuter, I can afford to go more extreme with it. Ugh, decisions decisions!

Got my Raptor Liner Friday, and ordered more carpet samples. Supplier said the color I chose was not OEM (although it looks the same to me and to my wife). Should get samples next week to compare.

Not going to spray in bedliner yet. Going to wait until all the touch up on paint job is completed. Spent Friday and Saturday working on brother in law's Mazda (the BIL I got the Ram from). He spent the day drooling over the Ram! Had to replace control arms and inner tie rods on Mazda.

Picked up a white china marker to mark places to touch up on Ram. Taking toady off from working on truck (depression after Mavericks getting swept by OKC.......)

Another delivery today....from LMC Truck. Bumper trim pieces and driver door weatherstrip. Wonder what I will be doing this evening.....

I was considering painting the gray pieces that goes on the bottom of bumper black, but think I will also have to paint the top piece and the lower air dam or it will not match.

So I decided to paint the gray bumper trim. The idea of evrything being black but that one piece did not appeal to me. Tested on back side to see how it looked with other new black trim pieces. Washed part off with lacquer thinner before painting.

Wife wasn’t too thrilled that I was painting it on the front porch….and I wasn’t happy that it started blowing rain just after I finished spraying…..but it all worked out..

Decided to put grill back on tonight, but grill support is pushed up about 1” from damage by PO. Had to remove it and straighten and reinstall, but discovered some slight orange peel on hood.

Orange peel sanded with 2000 grit.

Bent grill support allowed hood latch to be out of place.

And finally, grill installed:

One lesson learned……either cover parts removed (like grill) or have some reducer on hand to remove any overspray if grill is left on bench near painting…..

Grill fit up well and looks good. Bumper maybe tomorrow!

Wow I love the grille instert! Looks very sharp as does the rest of the truck.
This is a great thread I joined after this thread was long started and I went back and read every page, I love what your doing gdstock. This is truly your truck!
Did the grille come from LMC?

Got the grill from a supplier on e-bay. Cannot track supplier as e-bay recently changed where you can only see a limited purchase history. Had to find the ram logo separately (cost almost as much as the grill).

Looks like I need to paint radiator - more black....
