Ram Body work

Also need to reinstall third brake light and tailgate handle,
Still have some work. A little touch up, flipping the hood and painting underside, as it looks "dirty" when the hood is up. I painted inner fenders and other areas in engine bay when I installed e-fan, so th under side of hood is the worst part now.
I drove to Austin Thursday and back home this evening (about 200 miles each way). Ran like a top. Got lots of looks - e-fan does have a distinctive sound....and with AC running, the fans run at 100%. Driving home in the rain with outside temp about 84, engine was running about 160 degrees. Anyone know at what point one should expect to see adverse effects of low temp? Watching AF gauge, it appears to have about the same range of motion as any other time. Also trans temp ranged from 150 to 106 degrees.
Dry with 1000g with orbital, then wet with 1200 grit 3M purple. I did not sand the hood yet as I ran out of time. Had to slap hood and tailgate on Thursday afternoon for trip out of town for work. I hope to sand and buff it Saturday. I have a couple small places where I think I buffed too much as the shine started to dull. Gotta figure out how to fix those. Wish there was a better way to learn this instead of trial and error....but....
Then it will be time to spray bedliner, weather permitting.

That is why you keep burning through the paint. finish sanding, is a wetsand by hand, NEVER with a power sander. If the finish is that bad (orange peem, runs, etc), wetsand witg 600 grit, then go over it with 1000 grit, then buff. Never ever ever with an orbital or any power sander. That is for prep work only.
You can finish sand with an orbital as long as you have a foam pad. Its about ½" thick and attatches to the pad of the sander. It helps prevent any "hard" spots when sanding. It does not do much of anything for a smooth finish though. It will give an OEM look (slight orange peel). In other words, these are used more in collision shops (seen and used them) than custom (never seen or used) and Ive worked in both.
