Bullspit!!!
oh.. I misunderstood.. I was thinking it was you who did this not long ago.. those things get gunked up.. it happens.. if i were to clean one, or replace one, and have to do it in short order? I'd be wondering where all that gunk came from.. that is why i mentioned it..
The anti freeze system? or the cooling system within the tranny
I just did fluid and filter not even 5k ago when I first got the truck but I only drain it and put new filter I didnt flush or adjust bands.
The trans cooling system.. it leaves the trans and heads to the radiator, then back to te trans.. if you have the towing package, there may be an additional heat exchange as well.. crap likes to hang out in those passages, and when they dislodge? They gotta go somewhere.. if your internal filter isn't filtering, it will pass it.. regardless of that, the solenoids are right there too.. drinking clodded atf..
All fluids in a vehicle should be changed at regular intervals (eg, Coolant (anti-freeze) every three years; brake fluid ~3 years or when it discolors/becomes very dark; oil and transmission fluid as prescribed in the service manual.
those two critters (pressure sensor and governor) are what tell your trans to shift..
often times, when they are clogging, a little 'help' will encourage them into shifting.. you can do it two ways- you can pull the eight pin connector (which basically makes your truck a standard), or you can do as I said.. pulling the eight pin and treating it as if it's a manual is more reliable a means to test- but it's been my experience that if it responds to user input with the lever, then it is likely an electronic issue (the solenoid and pressure governor) and not a band/apply lever issue.. the only thing it doesn't rule out is freedom of fluid flow..
