Bullspit!!!
you're golden most likely..
drop pan, let it drain a good while.. swap electronics..
pull lines from tranny heading toward radiator.. the check valve is in the fat bell shaped one..
use fairly low pressure air and force the heat exchange clear..
hook it back up (sans check valve).. fill it.. guestimate how much came out, put that much back in.. start truck, set brake, chock wheels, put it in N.. check level, add as needed as the engines warms.. get back in truck, foot on brake- go to each gear, stopping for 20 or so seconds between shifts, end back in N.. check level.. add as needed.. do it again.. do it until the level is consistently where you want it..
take it for a spin..
report your findings, yo...

Transmission got really horrible today. Didnt think I was going to make it home. Supposed to get 2 to 5 inch snow tomorrow. Hope I have oppertunity to drop pan in cold weather insted of cold wet snowy weather.... Any ways I have a question: people always say that there truck is startong out in 2 gear or higher, some say theres is not shifting out of first, I know both can happen how can u determine which it is. How would I know the dofference between starting out in a higher gear or not coming out of first
If it starts out in a higher gear, it will be a DOG until the revs come up, and you won't feel the shifts you should.
If it starts out in first, and doesn't shift at all, it will get rollin' just fine, but, top speed will be about 25 MPH at redline.

I recently went through this at Christmas time....after weight my options I financed a tranny rebuilt which put me 1800 i the hole...two days later my engine developed a mis.... still dumping money into it myself...
I had warning signs 10,000 miles ago when the gov soluniod plugged and I replaced the sensor and soleniod.... if your soleniod screen if full of shavings but replacing or cleaning it works for you you may want to start saving for a rebuild... when the TC finally lets go it leaves shavings everywhere... thats what happened to me.

weather turned out in my favor, it snowed a bit but nothing stuck due to yesterdays temp. also the "storm" went out to see insted, so here are my findings Yo's......
I stuck my transfer pump in my dipstick tunnel and began to pump, the fluid that came out was DARK! after pumping it all out i dropped the pan. The fluid that was left in the pan had swirls of another color it wasnt quite metallic but it was on the silver side (best way to describe it.) after emptying the pan of most of the fluid left i found three small pieces of black chips, it was almost like chips of paint. The pieces were thin and brittle, like i said almost like chips of paint but slightly (emphasis on slightly) thicker than paint. the magnet was covered in crap. keep in mind that not even 5k miles ago i did filter and fluid, the reason i mention that is because i would think that after changing fluid and filter (also cleaning magnet at that time) that there shouldnt be that much on the magnet.
after that i removed the aluminum piece that the solenoid and sensor sit on, then i disconnected the wiring and the sensor and solenoid. that is where i am now.
I took plenty of photos and video just having a problem emailing from my phone to the computer (my phone is a piece of ****) so now im going to hook my SD card to my computer and upload them that way so within the next half hr i will have those up.
i ordered the new solenoid and sensor from napa but didnt have them in stock so this morning before i did that work previously mentioned, i went to drive to the warehouse a couple towns over and pick them up. wasnt going down, right before i got on the highway tranny started acting up. its like when i turn the car on it shifts kind of o.k will shift around 2k to 3k but after a few it starts shifting later or not shifting at all. so i turned around and headed home. as i was heading home i was at 3,500 rpms and only doing 20 miles an hr as the rpms went up my truck only increased speed about 1 mph. i pulled the truck over turned it off, and restarted it. it would shift ok for a couple and start to **** up again, so i got home after continuing that process another two or three times.

thank you for that, I havent picked them up yet. Im not sure where im going to go with this. Im going to post the video and pics of my findings and get some info from you all. then ill take it from there. if its something more than solenoid no sense in buying them, if it is solenoid maybe ill get a refund and buy the parts from berg warner. i paid 150 bucks for both sensors
AUGIEDOGGY: off topic but do you remember that pm i sent you regarding the hi flow cat and pipes? well i found the part number you sent me, however it said it was for a 6 cylinder. I have an 8
