I was going to put my flowmaster 10 on yesterday , and I wanted it before the rear tire , shop says they can't do it bcause its not 2 feet away from door and that I have a funtional rear window .

Kinda Peed off , my cousin has a single cab ram lime mine and that is how his is set up and my neighbor has a ranger with the same set up .

 

i don't know how the laws are near you but here as long as the tail pipe exhausts behind the cab it is legal. maybe you should find another shop and ask them. mine exits in front of the rear tire on my 81.

 

Maybe you can have them bend the pipe the way you want and put it on yourself. That wat they are not installing it and therefore would not be breaking any possible laws.

Or find out where your buddy got his done and go there.

 

No its not illegal. As long as the exhaust exits past the passenger compartment you are perfectly fine.. The shop is just giving you the run around wanting you to spend more money on having it exit out further back.. Find another shop to do it, or do it yourself.

Edit: If i remember correctly you are from Pittsburgh right? If thats so its legal to do what you want. The law according to Pennsylvania for inspection is if the exhaust exits past the passenger compartment it is fine. If it doesnt then that is when you run into issues with the laws.

 

I don't know, but I can tell you that in Pennsylvania, it is illegal to have over 16 women live in a house together because that constitutes a brothel.
