In the spirit of the thread, My name is Josh and I'm an alcoholic....(wait I don't go to meetings! so I'm just a drunk) haha anyway all joking aside I'm 25 and have been working on cars since I was 5 years old or old enough to hold the light for my dad & older brother. I've put & taken out 20+ motors in vehicles ranging from a 550hp 327 into a 1969 Camaro to a 360 into a 2001 Dodge Ram and various cars & trucks and a few transmissions as well as random suspension work & fab.

I don't have a lot of money and I don't trust other people working on my vehicles so if something goes wrong I learn how to fix it even if I've never done anything like it before, in any case I always get the job done when working on a vehicle, and this forum helps in shining some light on the few areas I'm not completely comfortable with. I also love to talk cars and love to soak up knowledge & get a complete understanding of the way things work, theres always room to learn & improve.

as much fun as that sounds like (to us, not to Hey), the bad part is that with gas back at $4.00/gallon, it's probably cheaper to pay a shop to do it.

i wish our trucks were like a toyota 4 runner i used to have. the complete gear setup comes out as one big piece, so you can just trade around and swap them in easy as pie.

23, I learned alot from my Dad. I love wrenching, and tried to soak up as much knowledge as I can from others with more experience. I like doing research, so just picking something I might do to my Ram then playing with the search button has brought me hours of reading that has pointed me in the right direction. It's my hobby, but it's also become kind of my ''calm me down''. Whenever I need to get some air or do some thinking I tinker with my truck or look for stuff for my truck lol.

I'm 19 (passed as 25 before though lololol) with a birthday coming up soon. Got into the tinkering part of things kinda later in life. But now I love it and can do pretty much anything. Installed everything from the lift kit to speakers and an amp in my truck. Ultimate goal is to be able to weld and fabricate, and do engine and trans builds. I also find fixing and researching things about my truck relaxing and can burn hours of time buried in websites, books, magazines, and of course the engine bay of my truck bahaha. I've planned many builds since I was around 10 - 12. I used to have a bookcase in my closet filled with articles, plans, and information on muscle cars, trucks, and everything in between. I've been told by many people that I was definitely born in the wrong generation, which I gladly take as a compliment.

48...I can do everything myself except tear into a motor or transmission, well I could tear into them..but would not know what to do then...lol...there are just some things worth paying an expert to do, imo.
