Wheeling a fullsize
Hey Wh1t3nukle, have you ever off roaded with jeeps? How do you find a full size like our rams compare? I haven't done too much offroading with jeeps but my buddy bought a rubicon in the fall and we will be testing it out this spring. Theres about 3 jeeps, 1 canyon, 1 blazer and me - the only fullsize in our group. I haven't done too much offroading but this spring I plan to get into it more. My wallet already feels empty lol.
How to compare? The lines are almost always different. No matter the rig, wheelspin is a no-no out here. Rubicon lockers are the worst thing when you get to tire size >33" (just my experience with the many I wheel with). While Jeeps can do just about anything on 33s, our trucks need that nice medium at 35s. This is limited to my observation in the type of terrain here. Driving style is most important factor.
You can't go wheeling here w/o the presence of a Jeep or Toyota. Here are pics of friends

Before tires and updated arms, but also sway bar connected... :/

What year Rubicon did your buddy buy? If it is a newer JK Jeep then it is getting closer to the size of your truck. Most of the trails here in the Pacific Northwest are too narrow for a FST or a JK. Or I should say most trails use to be too narrow but after a bunch of AS$HOOLES came thru with their rigs our trails aren't as narrow now.
Remember to build your rig for the size of your local trails, not ruin your local trails so that your rig will fit.

Excellent work.
