One junky Chrysler transmission is the same as another... Manual or not.

At least with the option we had during the 2nd Gen era...

At least the manual trannys are more reliable than autos. Also is it safe to assume that my truck is the work truck edition of Dodge?

4.10 gears, limited slip rear, 35 gallon tank, 5spd manual. I'd say that's a work truck.. But I don't think Dodge ever called it anything over then a Ram. They didn't have the "heavy duty" crap that Chevy advertises...

However, Sunday while on Business 40 in NC I did see a newish Ram 2500 Hemi with "heavy duty" on the tailgate...

Granny first gear, EXTREMELY strong, smooth, ridiculously reliable (as long as you don't let the oil leak out...)

Obviously you don't know much about NV4500's. They are known for being the strongest factory configuration 5 speed manual ever built. I have yet to hear of one killed by anything other than neglect/abuse (aside from regular syncro/bearing wear). Do a little reading, they are amazing gearboxes. I'd like to see how long your 46re lasted behind a stock 12 valve, much less the built 800+ ft-lb Cummins's that numerous people run in front of completely stock NV4500's.

I think all 3/4 ton's got 35 gallon tanks. 4.10's are more desirable than 3.55's because they let the engine see it's powerband a bit sooner, so you feel more confident pulling heavy weight. slightly higher freeway rpm's, but hey, it's a work truck.
