I'd check the rear dif gear ratio, to be sure of what it is. By the looks of the bed on both sides behind the rear tires. It looks like the original rear fell out of it.
I had blowouts on the tires that came with it when i brought the truck.
i have a 96 ram 1500 2 wheel drive 5.9 motor with a electric lift on back.a friend want to give a very good use set of 4 tires size 285/75/16LT.you think these tire be ok on my truck.need reply soon.
Uhh can we say thread jack, and learn some english.
I..... I would say it has outlasted its engineered life span. I just laugh when I read folks saying how junky Dodge trannies are when they go out at 180k. Really? Tell that to the Ford, Chevy and Toyota guys whose trannies usually detonate by 120k, at most.
IMy Ram had a blown tranny at 134,000 miles when I got it. But everything on the truck had been neglected and abused. I have 275,000 on my Yota, 180K on Jag, and have put 200K on 2 Chevy's I bought new over the last 15 years...and never any other tranny issues. Most of it is how you drive it and take care of it. The 46RE's do seem to have some issues that even show up for those that take care of their truck, and my son bought a new Ram in 96. Tranny fell out within 10K. Dealer replaced twice...and they then gave him his money back. Any manufacturer can and does produce a lemon on occasion.....

Mine looked like that when I got it also.....neglected worn tires will only last so long before they let go!
