engine stand is all put together. not a bad looking stand for 60 bucks from harbor freight.
heads showed up a little after 5, and they sure do look pretty!
engine is going on the stand tomorrow, for complete dissassembly.
what is the correct placement of the dots for tdc? 12 oclock for both dots, or 12 for the crank, and 6 for the cam?

that didnt help me. both valves should be closed at #1 tdc correct? ill just pull the intake, and valve covers, and watch for them to be both closed.
Ok rotate the motor over until the intake valve opens on cyld 1, keep rotating until until intake valve closes, look at the HB and the timing cover keep rotating until the marks on the HB and the cover line up to 0.
Edit: Make sure you are looking at the intake valve not the exhaust valve.
