That seems to be about average for price. Go look and see what shape they are in and what new parts are needed, things like rotors and calipers, balljoints and take money off his asking price. @ $150 each, then no Q's just go get them. Good luck

Edit: Get the BOM number off them and look it up, what year diff's are they?

BOM = Dana's "Build of Materials" numeric system on how to identify what the diff is and for getting part numbers. There should or might be a metal tag bolted to the diff covers or they are stamped into the axle tube. These can be decoded over at Dana/Spicer web site.

Just for reference, i essentially bought my axles for 1000. Now I did get the whole truck and parted out a lot of stuff, but the reason I got it was fro the 60s. Mine had 4.10s and rear discs, so more rare and more money.

I completely rebuilt the front end, bjs, u joints, and i spent at least 300 dollars on all that stuff.

so a quick price of my swap
axles- 1000
parts-300
rear ds-100

soo thats 1500 right there becuase im sure i forgot stuff. I didnt have to touch the actual diffs. If you do expect the price to shoot way up.

But the swap is totally worth the money. You will save money not having to constantly rebuild the 44

Axle should have this tag, if not it should be stamped on the axle tube

Just the opposite for me cost wise. I spent more on parts and got the diff's cheap.

Parts $800 just for diff parts, drums, shoes, pads, metal brake lines, wheel cyld and calipers, axle seals, gear oil, oil modifier for the lsd, cut the rotors. I did not have to change out any ball joints or hub bearings and another $500 for those parts.

Diff's $300 for both

Master Cyld $160

Rear DS modded and yokes $200

U-joints $100, I only replaced two rear ds u joints others were fine.

Wheels $480 for all four

Lug nuts $100

Mount and balance $100

As Ham Bone said not cheap but well worth it for many reasons.

$300 per axle is a steal, I'd jump on those as long as the bom numbers are good

Well guys. Kinda embarrassed to say this but all I had to do to fix the brakes was flip the calipers in the rear.

I installed them on the wrong sides so the blessed screw was on the bottom. Now it's on the top and they actually bled.

I have a STUPID GOOD brake pedal now
