FireDodge's 360 Build
Little bit of an update... Currently have 290 miles on the new motor, but I'm having idling issues. Hemifever sent me a generic tune for my cam until I can get my AF gauge (hopefully ordering this weekend). I haven't beaten it up yet, trying to be nice for the break in, but I have gone WOT a few times. It cuts out at higher RPM, which makes me believe that it's running lean, which is why I need my AF gauge. Still no muffler, so it's loud as crap haha.
I'll update as soon as I get the AF gauge installed and a new tune from Sean.

Oh yeah, the idling issues... When I start driving around, as soon as I come to a stop the RPM's drop to around 200 and it can sometimes save itself, but it often will die on me and I have to restart. But as soon as I turn it over, I have to pump some gas into it to get it going. I replaced the TPS and IAC 1.5-2 years ago and was hoping they weren't already bad. May also have to do with the lean fuel issue... aaaaaand I haven't done a fuel sync yet so that may help as well...
With machine work, parts, and random stuff... I think I'm sitting at around $2500. That includes the M1 intake I've already had for two years and the throttle body I've had for 3. My only labor costs were pop, pizza, and beer. But that sounds about right.
Not engine related, but I will be picking up a set of axles Saturday for my truck. Found a Dana 80/60 out of a 95 for $650. The guy had an ad on Craigslist for a 95 2500 Cummins and had a front axle to make it a 4x4 and also had a spare rear axle. I asked if he would just sell the spares and here we are. Around here, that pretty cheap for 1 ton axles. I estimate they won't go in until mid summer or fall because I'll spend some time rebuilding them to my liking (and also gathering lift kit parts).
I've been consulting with some friends now and I think I have a general idea of where I'm going with this build now. I'm thinking 5.38 gears, Detroit rear locker, and probably a lunch box locker up front. Something around an 8 inch lift with 37s or 38s. I don't really want to mess with transfer case and transmission angles/reclocking/mounts yet so it'd be a 5 inch suspension with 3 inch body. That's what we all figured would be good.... for now.
