FireDodge's 360 Build
Decided to start it today, hasn't be ran in a week or so. Doesn't want to start...... It'll fire, but only momentarily. So I took out the IAC (dirty as crap), gently cleaned it off but still no luck. I can get it to run by pumping the pedal a little then using the gas pedal to keep it alive. It doesn't want to idle at all.... As soon as you let off the gas (however lightly you have your foot on) it will die. My mechanic friend is coming to do the fuel sync tomorrow evening, so maybe he can diagnose some things for me.
What are your guys' suggestions here? I have the AFR gauge ( going in tonight or tomorrow) but the truck doesn't want to run properly. Should I do a recording of the AFR as it is to see if it's running too lean or rich? Or figure out what the idle problem is first?
Finally got a new battery, cleaned the IAC and it idles fine now. My mechanic has been swamped lately, so still waiting for that fuel sync... oh well. My Accord gets better mpg's anyway :/
Well, my mechanic is going to help me out tomorrow night with the fuel sync. So hopefully Wednesday or Thursday I can get my Wideband O2 in and send some specs to Sean at HemiFever. Found a guy that's parting out a 97 Ram 2500 and will be picking up a front Dana 60 Saturday morning. I'm getting excited now! Will be waiting until summer now to order gears and whatnot for the axles (70rear,60front).
I have friends that are big into crawling and offroading, so they will be making a custom long arm kit for the front, and I'll probably end up getting lifted leafs and a shackle flip for the rear depending how high of a total lift I go. Also looking into building a spare tire carrier like this... (hopefully this works, it's a .gif)
