Tuner question: Can I run my truck for awhile without getting my SCT tuned for a 360 and just run with the 318's pcm for the new 360? I'm guessing it won't run good but I'm curious because I'm ready to pull my old motor out tomorrow and wanted to know a time frame with my SCT and stuff.

I have a 360 PCM running my 318, and it runs fine.

Hmm..I read somewhere that a guys truck didn't run good with a 318 PCM and a 360 motor. I was curious if anybody had more info on the subject.

I thought I had read that it may run a bit lean, but you could try, see how it runs, go from there until you get your tuner & tune...

I woukdnt risk it too much on a freshly rebuilt motor.

Idk the difference may be small, or you could a torch a piston....

In closed loop, it won't matter. In open loop (before the engine is warmed up, or, at large throttle openings) it will tend to run a bit lean.

So, stay off the go-pedal, and pay attention to spark knock, if you get a lot of knock, drive easier, or not at all, till you get the right tune.

I'll keep that in mind. I talked with Sean (Hemifever) and he said it would run but not optimal. I'll get my custom tune soon enough.
