I found a nice 2001 2500 4x4 in mint condition for a reasonable price. Anybody have experience with a quad cab long box? Or more specifically, a lifted quad cab long box? Does the extra foot and a half make the world of difference on/off road?

Be easier to get stuck on a rock or something on the middle. (Forget the term for it)

It's only a foot and a half longer than my reg cab/long box. Is it really that much different?

Anyways, here's a pic.

Price? Miles? It doesn't look lifted unless you mean your going to lift it yourself. I wouldnt imagine it would be much fun offroad. I had the reg cab long box, sucked off road. But I guess you already know that.

Wow. Looks nice. And tow hooks! Don't think it's lifted though, the heavier trucks sat a couple inches higher than the half-tons in any event.

The long wheel base is kind of a drag off-road. Easier to get high-centered (as mentioned) and don't even consider tight corners. (unless you don't like your bodywork.)

On-road, it will ride a bit better, has more room for a load, better stability for towing....... considering it will probably spend 95% of its life on the road...... I think it's a good choice, providing it actually is as good as it looks.

It's not lifted but if I did buy it, I could put a 5 inch lift on it.. Something about lifts ya know.. :P When I say "offroad" I don't mean rock crawling or anything of the sort, I mean driving down old logging trails to go fishing that kind of thing. A truck like this I wouldn't purposely abuse it. The guy is a little far away but I've seen about 10 pics and its mint. Comes with tonneau cover and colour matching cap. 230,000km 5.9 4x4 got him down to $4500. Everything works including a/c and it comes certified. He wants to buy a Durango now that he has kids.

It's between this one and a black 2000 ram 1500 quad cab short box fully loaded with heated leather in decent shape.
