My uncle used to shut down his Farmall by putting his hands on the ends of the sparkplug wires.

Its not that bad if you ground your arms near your wrists on the fairing over the engine.

Found out doing that on a engine that has a magneto is not so nice at all.

Well i reached down there to grab it and check it out.... while the truck was still running..... my arm still feels a little funny. At least I have good spark!!

This was tonight. And after dropping the wire after receiving some number of thousand volts through my hand I could see it arcing to the manifold. New wires tomorrow. Might check the plugs too. Been a good four years for the wires and 2 on the plugs. Up to 230xxx miles now.
I've done that too. I pulled the spark plug wire off the distributor once (or twice) to confirm I had spark. Figured I'd see it arcing (it was very dark out). Truck wouldn't start, had a guy turning the key for me when I pulled the wire. That voltage was fun!

Its about the steering and tie rod snapping right?? One article i saw said Chrysler had already fixed 60% of the vehicles. They can either fix them or buy them back, fix them and then resell them.

Seems to me to be another failing that can probably have it roots traced back to the terrible, terrible Daimler era.

I think it's 09 and newer, so daimler may have been out of the picture by then.

Yeah but their terribleness still effects stuff done down the road. Its like buying someones old truck that's a wiring mess and the shocks have been extended with rebar.

I don't know the years but it extends to older jeeps with the gas tank at the rear.

Yup.

They have to offer up to 10% more than the market value on the buy backs.

It's just a damn shame these 2nd Gen Ram's aren't on the list
