Ham Bone's (not so) secret thread of auto to manual swap.
My clutch kit is coming with a new pilot bearing so I'm set there. But the donor is a 5.2 and my truck is a 5.9. I've been looking for about a week now and I don't know if I was so tired I just read it and didn't realize it, but I couldn't find anything about if the 5.2 sleeve will fit the 5.9
Hi Ham Bone I just did a auto to NV4500 on my 99 1500 and at the same time swapped in 2500 axles. My question is do you have emission testing in your state? I am having trouble finding a answer to what I can do for a pcm that wont set cel codes for it looking for the auto trans and still make it through emission testing?
Any help from any one would be great.
Thanks Don. P.S I am in C.t.

Have your PCM flashed for the engine, and manual trans you now have. You'll be all set. Might have to go to the dealer for that, but, you can check with the local shops, to see if anyone has the capability to do so.
Depends on the dealer.... Some just don't have a problem doing it, others will want to sell you a 1200 dollar PCM.
Otherwise, the various tuners can also take care of you. (Hemifever, or Flyin' Ryan.)

Never got my pcm flashed. I just swap out the manual pcm for the auto trans one ome state inspection time to get rid of the abs and brake lights.
ABS never seemed to work well anyway.
There was a recall on the hurst shifter from core shifters. But they rebuilt it with upgraded parts for free. Highly recommend them. I did upgrade to a longer stick that is more like stock length, much more comfortable shifting position
